Dogs and cats are carnivores. They require the high-protein, low-carbohydrate diet of meat-eaters. So why isn't this reflected in the food we give them?
WHY DOES COMMERCIAL DOG AND CAT FOOD CONTAIN SO MUCH GRAIN?
Grain (maize, wheat) is listed as the main ingredient in 66% of dog food and 46% of adult cat food along with a very high starch content.

The quality of our products is guaranteed by regular controls validated by local authorities. Analyses are run internally and in independent accredited laboratories.
The VETERINARY HPM® formulations are constant all year round, and respect the most modern nutritional standards and guidelines, using only the highest quality ingredients.
Animal protein is the main ingredient of the VETERINARY HPM® range, and this comes from high quality pork and poultry, contains very low levels of ash (minerals) and is from European origin. Our peas and potato starch are from Europe and our rice originates from Asia.
No artificial colours or flavours are added to any VETERINARY HPM® products. Our strict ingredient supply policy also ensures that no raw materials are derived from Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs).

In just a few decades, dogs and cats, both of which are natural carnivores, have had to adapt to diets increasingly rich in starch. Recent studies show however, that when given the choice, dogs and cats clearly prefer foods which contain very little carbohydrate and are richer in animal protein.*
